Does anyone know what this plant is? It has the characteristic leaves of 3 but it was about 8 feet tall. Light greenish bark

The bottom photo of the young tree gives us a better clue. If you look up Golden Chain Tree in the Database, known as Laburnum or Laburnum anagyroides, you will see a photo by Skiekitty that shows the 'leaves of three' in a more angular form. If you scroll to the bottom of the tree you will see the green bark.

These trees, with their long hanging chains of yellow blossoms, can throw many seedlings quite easily, from the pendulous flower and seed casings. Enjoy their beauty in the late spring.

While looking at some gorgeous shots of a Blue Tailed Skink in the Blog of @greene, I noticed in the entry just before it, a tree I have no knowledge of: Chipilin (Crotalaria longirostra) that has similarities to the Golden Chain Tree, but grows in greene's yard in Savannah Georgia! It has "leaves of three" and green bark.!

I just found this thread by Hark07; I can't tell from the images what the plant is. May have to wait for flowers.

@HemNorth, The Chipilin is not a tree. It is a weedy herbaceous plant. Sorry that one of my uploaded images made it look like a tree.

possible Cytisus?
