Laura, that is going to be awesome when it fills in. Great mix of sedum and semps you have in it. Will be so much fun to see it next spring when growing season takes off.

Thanks so much!! Ok, got a question, does anyone keep these inside? I have put it on a hook near my front windows. It will get bright indirect light over the winter?? Any feedback on this? Also, I purchased these from the COOP on here, where are other places to get more?? I do not know the names of mine but would love others. I would gladly pay for postage or swap something I have for them if anyone is interested please send me a CMAIL. I am thinking about making these for Christmas gifts. Or if anyone knows a good seller where I could get a nice assts.

Laura, it will do best outside, you can even lay it flat over the winter. Chris can tell you how she stores her's over the winter. Indoors is not a good place for them, they actually like and need the winter weather to do well.
If you go to your account at the top of the page you can add info that will help us understand more about what your growing conditions are, as in part of the country, zone, etc.
Most of us are through trading until next spring as the plants are winding down for winter sleep. But there are a number of great places for awesome plants at wonderful prices listed over in the Links on the upper right hand side of this page.
A new one for me just this month is Perennial Obsession. Her plants are wonderful and prices are great. http://perennialobsessions.com... But there are many more nursery to choose from.
Get ready for next springs trading. Thumbs up

Welcome Laura - wonderful to have you here! Hurray!

You did a great job on that wreath for your first one. Lynn was correct that the wreath will do best if left outside year round. I live in zone 4 where we get some pretty nasty temps in the winter. I just lay my wreaths on the ground next to the house for the winter. They get leaves and snow on them and they do fine. In the spring I just hang them up again. I just have to watch them in the spring so they don't lay in a wet area for too long. As soon as the snow melts I get them out in the sun.

The ones I have now are made with only semps and sedum. I had one that had tender succulents in it but I took it apart for the winter and put the tender ones in pots and brought them in for the winter.

I'm sure that anyone who received one of those from you for Christmas would be thrilled!

Thanks so much for the info!!! I will keep mine outside then. If I get anymore, I will be sure to mark them so I know the name for trades as well. I really wasn't planning on getting "addicted" to these!! LOLOL

I do have a question, if I make some for Christmas gifts, how do I keep those until then?? arghhhh!! LOL

Any help would be great, I do have 2 huge windows downstairs, could I keep them there where it would be cool and bright? I live in the midwest, in Illinois, 35 miles East of St. Louis, MO.

Thanks again!!! Laura H

Thanks for sharing Laura - I'd love to see a pic once it fills out next year.

If you make some for gifts I don't think it will hurt to keep them in a really bright place until they root, although it may be difficult to harden them off once the recipient is finished displaying it. As Lynn says, they do like a winter rest.

I think I'm going to hold off on making them, after reading about the "resting" time. I can give them to them in the Spring. I'm excited to see what it does too!!

Thanks again for all your help!!

Laura wonderful wreath. Now that you have the wreath making bug you will start looking at all plants with a different eye. "Gee I wonder how that plant will grow in a wreath". Might as well get a few more wreath forms now as come spring you will be thinking about a Kitchen Herb Wreath, maybe a Hosta & Ivy Wreath possibly an Orchid Wreath...... the list goes on. Hilarious! Keep an eye out for picture frame stands, music holders and easels as well, they are a great way to display your wreaths.

Great ideas Holly. Thumbs up I have used Jacki's methods for starting succulents from cuttings and leaves, so have a bunch that should be ready come spring time to do some projects with.

I kept adding different sedum to it over a months time. The sedum are really starting to take hold. I tried to be careful about planting only smaller type semps so they wouldn't overwhelm things. I think even the larger semps would do well because I think the planting medium (moss) would keep them small.
