I recently moved my Coleus plants indoors for the winter. (I live in Canada; 'nuff said). My house faces east and west, so I was wondering which window I should put them in front of for the winter. I get a lot of natural light in the house, but not a lot of direct sunlight.

I'd think either East or West, the east windows will admit more light as the sun swiftly sets for west windows in the winter.
I over winter coleus in my basement under fluorescent lights.

I would. think an east window would probably be the best choice... probably second, though, to using plant lights. @Jmorth, how close to the plants do you keep the lights for coleus? (My experience is mainly with starting veggie seedlings that want the lights practically touching them -- I'm thinking the coleus would like to be further away?)

My mother's house in Vancouver BC had lovely east facing windows that she grew a lot of nice tropicals in front of them, though the winter there. My Coleus here in Florida goes all year 'round but the colors are much nicer in partial shade than in the direct sun. So I'd definitely go for the east facing windows.
