Woo, I like that Thistles and Thorns! Gotta think about that...$175....

It's taken some of hers a bit to settle in here, but I think that's more about my environment than her plants.

Really love her Heartbeat of Heaven and somewhere...I have a picture of her with it from the FL National...(gotta organize those pictures one of these days!)...

Hmmm....do I have the patience to wait for it on the secondary market...or do I get it for a b/d present for myself..lol...

Doggone, Rita....if you hadn't put this up here, I probably could have blissfully ignored them....haha

You know....the National is there in 2013.....but, I really don't like to fly anymore... Sad

She certainly has come beauties that would be great to use in your program. I am awaiting some results of the crosses you make with them as most I have seen of hers pass on great things to the kids.

I like quite a few of hers, especially Skin of My Teeth and Soli Deo Gloria. The dark colors are beautiful. However, I really like Thisles And Thorns for the branching it has.

These are some of the most beautiful daylilies that I've seen in awhile. Of course, I say some because I've seen more beauties on this website than ever before. Everyone here has goregous babies!!! Ok, pass the secret on to me, PLEASE! I've got to start counting out the dimes and may be forced to sell some of my other collections but I'VE JUST GOT TO HAVE SOME OF THE NEW ONES NEXT YEAR!!! I sure hope my DH heard that scream!

I've been kinda laid back about the intros for the past 3 years, but this year and next everyone just went wild. Now, just how long can one wait???

Blessings to all, Mona

I have lots of Karol's, too, and I've been waiting for her to introduce Soli Deo Gloria ever since I saw it in a presentation of hers when she was considering it for intro. Of course it's the most expensive one this year!! My wish list also includes El Shaddai, Stranger in a Strange Land, and Vanishing Mist. If any of you ever order from her, I suggest letting her pick your bonuses, just give her an idea what you like. She sends the very best of her plants as bonuses! She sent me King of the Ages and Rich in Mercy among others one year, and they are both awesome bloomers with great plant habit. Last year I asked for more fans of what I ordered instead of bonuses. This year I think I'll ask for bonuses again! I'm waiting to see what Paul Owen has in store for 2012 before I start spending money, though. I think he waits until he makes the rounds at the fall club meetings before he updates his website so folks at the meetings get the first peek at the new intros.

When I have ordered from Karol, sometimes I will have a bonus suggestion or two from her but since my orders were always large ones not only did I get the suggested bonuses but also lots of other bonus plants. And the times I ordered current years intros I always received even more current years intros as bonus plants. More bonus plants than in the original order. Karol was always very generous with the bonus plants I received that is for sure. Hurray!

I also am waiting until some of the other hybridizers I like to buy from announce their 2012 intros before I make any decisions. I only have about 8 empty spots that I can fill so I can only get a few new ones.

Come on over, Juli! Maybe we could drive over to Jamie's while you're on this side of town, too... it's only 15 minutes away. Hopefully, I will have the new flower beds made around the house so everything is not so crowded. Mike has been doing the trenching/drain work around the house for the past week. There is a gang of people here helping him as I'm writing this. A few of my daylilies are covered in clay about 2' deep from the trenches being dug. I started to complain about it last weekend, and he said (from the bottom of an 8' deep hole), "you come down here and dig and tell me if you care exactly where the dirt lands!" I felt bad! I think that the dls will be OK, as long as I get the dirt off of them within a week or so. I'm not so sure about the heuchera that are also buried, but they are much more easily replaced.

I did order all the SEVs and she will hold them until March. I could have got them now but they will be better plants in March. She offered extra fans in stead of a bonus plant, this is what we did last time and I wasn't disappointed with the extra fans.

I just went back to her site. I looked at the 2012 intros and I love them all. I also looked at her future intos from the 2008-2010 seedlings and the 2007-2009 seedlings. Absolutely wonderful seedllings.

I just don't know how I'm ever going to decide what to purchase in the Spring. My money is very very limited. I want some of Karol's, Trimmer's, Stamile's, Gaskin's and several others. I guess I'll write the names down, but them in a hat and draw!!!!

Blessings, Mona
