The weather guessers are calling for 3 nights of low temps this week....42..42..43. Will my plumies be OK left out in the cold? or do I need to move them into the GH already? If I move them in the heaters most likely will not be on yet, but there will be heat from the day built up...enough to last?? Too big for the house house and the boys would likely have a leg lifting contest Blinking no thank you very much Thumbs down This is such a tough time of year and I'm really not wanting to fire up the GH yet...lite bill is finally down some. I will go by your advice. Thanks

Do your temperatures generally go with the weather forecast ? Or are you usually a few degrees above? I would call it as I see it. 42 will not harm them, but be sure to start withholding water now because they will go dormant quickly with those temperatures.

Good luck!
If it's not too much hassle, place them in a protected area (under the eaves of the house or in the unheated greenhouse), the few degrees difference will help.

Thanks, Hetty I tip my hat to you. looks like the unheated GH it is. If anything our temps can be a few degrees cooler...unless it's a local channel giving the temps for Panama City...then you can count on 10 degrees difference. Grumbling I was planning to put "the kids" down the center anyway so should not be a problem. Again, thank you Lovey dubby

Gracious ... it always makes me shudder when I hear that FL is having those cold temps. Too much valuable citrus and wonderful plants there, and it makes me uneasy. Here I expect it ... there, I don't.

Where is Fountain?

We are supposed to be going down to an unheard of 52 on Thursday night. So from having the windows closed because the a/c is on, we're going to having the windows closed because it's too cold! I must find that blanket I put away in spring!

I know how that is, two years ago I had approx.200 potterd plants in the house, then I gave most of them away because of health, and last year I had 15 Adeniums, now I am back to too many again, I just can't stay away from them, Adeniums, brugs, and plumarias.
