I think you better give me tips for growing in Oklahoma. I think I have almost lost all of the ones I just got from mamajack in the co-op. I think they cooked. I am not a happy gardener right now. Crying

Susan are you serious? Put them in the shade. Not deep shade, just not direct sun. Your sun is so intense where you live. Kind of like TX. Can you post some photos so I can see what they look like. All may not be lost. Will watch for the photos and description of where you have them, the potting mix you used and anything else you think might be important.

Susan, my little bedivere's were on the porch but still got too much sun. Even they are crispy in places. :crying:

Sun is so hot right now. I actually do have the others in deep shade right now. But I will be moving them out a little further in the next day or two.

I caught the cat next door on my porch knocking the semps off that are hanging over the edge of the pot..Hmmmmmm.
Are cats a major semp hazard?

I went out and moved all the pots out of the sun and over to the mostly shady area where I am trying to keep trees alive in pots. Grumbling

I will go get some pics in a minute, I just about passed out moving the pots over, I came in and DH looked at me with a shocked look on his face and said what have you been doing? I said moving pots and he about smacked me.

So I went out to move a sprinkler awhile ago and was doing a little hand watering on my way to the next spot, and he came out and wanted to know what I was hand watering. I said just these few pots, etc. he said well you aren't going to be pulling hoses any long distances are you?

I said no, not yet, I save that for when it gets to be 109. Sticking tongue out

Oh, yeah, I was going to tell you, I have a bird feeding area outside my computer room window. I also have a bird bath right there for them.

This morning I had a ROBIN on the birdbath, having drink after drink. The other birds are sitting around with their wings held out and their mouths open. I have never seen anything like it. They do love that birdbath though, they line up next to one another, even birds that don't get along, and drink. amazing

We have a pond right there but they would rather drink from the birdbath. poor little things

Poor little birds. How sweet that you provide them with a safe place to enjoy water.

Okay, can't tell about the totally brown ones, but even they may be saved? The others are definitely in the realm of saving, even the sedum. SHADE. In the evening when the sun low and temps start going down for the night, mist the plants. If you have a nozzle that adjusts to misting that would be good to use. Don't over water the semps. The sedum can take a little more water, but not to much. All is not lost.

Oh Susan, I am so sorry about your semps. I have had mine in shade since I got them. Sometimes some of the sun rays come thru and in the afternoon it gets a bit of sun as the sun is going down, so it's not so glaring. That's what I was telling Lynn on one of these threads. I'm kinda scared to pot them and put them in the sun. I think I will leave them in their 4" pots until they get bigger and move them behind the water fountain and sedums, where they will still get mostly dappled shade. I guess if they need more sun , then I'll move them again. Or maybe I'll just leave them under the tree.

Susan, your husband is not the only one. I came in two days ago with my face so red you wouldn't believe it and my husband said if I do that again he will smack me. Well, he had better rethink that position, but I am thankful that he cares. I brought all of my potting stuff into my air conditioned shop this weekend so I could work on it. And my wonderful box just came in from Twit
Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether or not to go get my potting stuff to put them in their 4" pots or wait til around 7. It is soooooooo hot out there.

Hurray! Hurray! Thank you Twit, they are beautiful.

Oh, I imagine dangling semp babies would be an irresistable cat toy! Our kitties are busily digging up all the annuals...my semps are in an enclosed sunroom, and there they will stay! Last time I had them, the squirrels ate them.

My SIL lives in Denver and the squirrels and bunnies eat hers every time she gets more semps.
