So the peppers in the garden have taken a turn for the worse with this weird brown cover on them. Not even sure what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

I agree that it looks like mold or something; are the plants healthy otherwise? The stem on that pepper looks like it is kind of cracked and maybe rotting?

It's not a mold, it is a rough defect in the growth of the skin. Every pepper is this way. The plants are shriveled up. It is some kind of disease that all of the plants have.
