Beautiful flowers! I have Heavenly Blue morning glories and moonflowers growing together in a large pot on my front porch. I started both indoors early and transplanted out in mid-May. I just love them!

Zinnias are my addiction. But I have considered morning glories. Our Heavenly Blues threatened to become a weed, but were easily controlled. I considered breeding them, but skipped it primarily because they lacked warm colors.

That why that orange one in your pictures interests me. What variety is/was that? Several species are involved in morning glories. Maybe even two genera (Ipomea/Convolvulus). So there might be chromosome number barriers to some crosses.

But I think it is too bad that morning glories don't have the same extended range of warm colors that zinnias have. Morning glories have plenty of cool colors, included a good assortment of blues, which zinnias unfortunately lack.
I could be wrong, but I think that Arizona is the only state prohibiting morning glories. Bindweed is bad in some states, but you can't legislate a bad weed out of existence.

@ZenmMan the orange/yellow flower is
Ipomoea obscura v. ethiopia.

There are also quite a few colors on the pastel lines, I will post some pics in a while. I just happen to like the blues the best!

Quite a few people, members here too, make their own crosses. I don't, but hope to one day. I let my purpureas cross naturally and have had quite a few nice suprises.

Love those blues! Been a while since I've grown Morning Glories, but I think I just might next summer -- especially if I can find some of those blues!

Those are some great looking and unusual pastel morning glories. Perhaps, with a little crossing of your own, you could add a few warm pastels like pale yellow, cream, vanilla, and pale orange. I think some Japanese morning glory breeders have approximated tan or brown colors.
