Please help to identify this plant: it looks like a shrub or small tree, leaves are green on one side and purple on the other. Purple little flowers and small green berries.

This is only a wild guess. For some reason I want to say it may be a type of Eucalyptus. Thank You!

It does look a bit like Eucalyptus; what does it smell like?

The flowers look lobelia-shaped rather than Eucalyptus though. Is this plant cultivated or growing in the wild?

I may not be remembering correctly, but I thought that the blooms looked like my Eucalyptus - but the leaves are not the same shape.

It's a long time since I've seen Eucalyptus growing so I Googled Eucalyptus flowers and this is what I got. I made an assumption that they wouldn't be so much different from the ID plant as this:

Oh, wow! I am quite certain my tree does not have blooms like those...

I agree that the fuzzy eucalyptus blooms do not look like the blooms in the image.

@Kari,
It would be good to see more detailed photos especially of the bloom and the fruits.
Are the leaves fuzzy at all?
To my eyes the leaves look green on the front and grayish on the back; is that correct?
:thankyou:

Could it be Vitex trifolia 'Purpurea'?

It's certainly not Eucalyptus. I think porkpal is correct - indeed looks exactly like Vitex trifolia Smiling
