I REMEMBER those! We didn't have a phone when I was very young, but then when we did get one, it looked like that! And to try it out, I was given the time number! I remember dialing and it made those noises. Couldn't dial real quick like you can now!
Okay, I hate to do this...I really, really do. My father had the bad habit of singing silly songs and repeating rhymes he'd somehow picked up in his youth. And some of those are trapped in my brain, God help me! Examples: first, a silly song:
Them cakes that mammy makes, they ain't fit for snakes.
They're the most wonderful cakes of all!
A silly rhyme:
Ice twice, six cents a slice, four cents a dime's worth, twice as nice!
I swear, he wasn't crazy and was a very sober responsible husband and father, but I just wondered if anybody can suggest anything to get them out of my head!!!
