I keep thinking "20 years ago when I was 30... " so I must THINK I am 50 ...BUT 50 sounds FEELS very old...because I honestly MOSTLY BELIEVE I am still 30...until I do the math.. I tip my hat to you.

They say age is just a number...I somewhat believe that...
But I am SUCH a stickler for expiration dates!

Ditto! When I'm sitting and planning my day I inevitably plan for some much younger version of myself to get the work done...

I REMEMBER those! We didn't have a phone when I was very young, but then when we did get one, it looked like that! And to try it out, I was given the time number! I remember dialing and it made those noises. Couldn't dial real quick like you can now!
Okay, I hate to do this...I really, really do. My father had the bad habit of singing silly songs and repeating rhymes he'd somehow picked up in his youth. And some of those are trapped in my brain, God help me! Examples: first, a silly song:
Them cakes that mammy makes, they ain't fit for snakes.
They're the most wonderful cakes of all!
A silly rhyme:
Ice twice, six cents a slice, four cents a dime's worth, twice as nice!
I swear, he wasn't crazy and was a very sober responsible husband and father, but I just wondered if anybody can suggest anything to get them out of my head!!! Confused

I remember getting to dial the time number on our rotary phones. Great fun!

My dad sang silly made up songs too, Linda, and I still remember them. It's sort of nice, and I don't worry about trying to forget them. He's been gone for a long time, but it's a nice memory.

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing So many times I find myself remembering things my folks often said. I say keep them in your brain as fond memories!

We found mom and dads old phone without the dial from their party line!!! My nephew kept it for his office.

732-8900 That is the first home phone number I memorized. No Area Code back then. We lived in the 93277 Zip Code when they first invented them. The first house we lived in is now a substance abuse house! I'd like to visit there one day for other reasons, of course! Grandma's phone number was PR6-1785. PR stood for the "Prospect" area.
