When you say "mostly shaded", do you mean year round, or is it seasonal? That would make a big difference. Plumeria was suggested, but our sun isn't the same as Florida, and most Plumerias need full sun all year to thrive. It looks like a Japanese elm tree shading your yard. If that is the case, it would be shaded year round. Your plant choices will change for year round shade, and seasonal shade. I have most plants in pots so I can move them in or out of the shade, as needed. My first choice would be to get rid of that tree, if it isn't a city tree. If it is, maybe you could lace it out to let in some light, otherwise you may be limited to shade plants, which usually are not the "water wise" plants.
