Our crotons and ixora were recently damaged severely by tropical storm Hermine. Do they need to be replaced, or can they be pruned back? If pruning is the solution, how much should be cut? Thank you.

Depending on your location you should be fine to cut them back pretty hard; I know we do in Southwest Florida.
