I came across a picture of WMCR today, and immediately fell in love with its beautiful pink ruffled form. Upon checking, I discovered that it also seems to go by the name Westbourne Curtain Ruffles. It was introduced back in 2007. I could only find it for sale one place-the hybridizer--for $40 a double fan, which would be $50 with S&H--WAY more than I am willing to spend for a daylily!!! But I find it very strange that a cultivar would be out for almost 10 years, and yet no one seems to have it. Do you think one should assume that there is some serious flaw with it--form or vigor or whatever --that would account for this? If that is not the case, is there anyone out there in daylily land who has it at a more reasonable price? Also, I see this variety came as a result of a cross with Tahitian Waterfalls. One gardener said TW had weak stems. Can someone else who grows TW comment on that? Thank you so much for your input!!!
