One of our Moderators has been holding out on us. But, the cat is now out of the bag. Kent Pfeiffer has been bit by the hybridizing bug, and his efforts have finally paid off. I don't know how long he has been at it, but there are four Registered creations in our database. There is no "Introduction" information yet (like year and source), but we all can hope for 2017. All four were registered in 2015 and three of them have pictures.

Lets take a peak shall we.

Serene Silence has taken the Iris Forum by storm this week and is up to (currently) 34 likes and 16 acorns. I think that will definitely be enough likes to push the "Iris Forum" to the top of the photo heap for this week!

It is easy to see why we are all enamored with Serene Silence. It is "crisp", bright, full of lines, and just darn pretty.

The biggest question we all have will be/is:

"Where can we get this and WHEN?"

Pfeiffer TB 201?

Just Crazy X Dinner Talk

X

That is a great pair, and Kent's result looks AMAZING. It is obvious what influence "Just Crazy" had on the outcome of Serene Silence.

PS. Just Crazy photo was posted this week and only has 10 likes. Wow. It should have more. GREAT picture @snork !

Livy

Pfeiffer TB 201?

Unlike "Serene Silence" which has the barest of information, "Livy" has alot more info to really get us hooked. stuff like:

Seedling number
Height
Bloom Season
Flower Form
Flower Pattern

blah, blah, blah.

The colours on this one are so neat, that I am salivating all over my keyboard (yes, drooling). This looks alot like "Springhouse" as far as coloration, but "Livy" is much sharper/crisp and I think the form is nicer too.

Here is a quote from Kent about Wintry Sky in his garden in 2015:

"Always a strong growing, heavy blooming plant for me, no matter where I plant it or how I treat it." No wonder he used it as a parent.

It is interesting to note that all four of his registered iris cultivars are "Bubble Ruffled" as to flower form. This one is from 2012 cross where as the other three are 2013 crosses.

Wonder what else Kent has in the "Hopper"?!?

I hope these are available soon as I really want "Livy" and would get Serene Silence at the same time.

I wonder if the reverse amoena is the one he had as his avitar for a long time.

Thanks Greg!

Three beauties Kent! I love how all those pictured show traits of the parents while being original in their own rights!

I would find room for them in my garden!
