I planted this ornamental onion next to the climbing rose because it's supposed to be a good companion plant. This was orginally one plant, but I split it into two before I planted it. Both parts are doing so well I'm wondering if they may be getting too cozy in the container with the rose? They both look like they could be split again.

I'm the wrong person to ask because I love crowded planters. Keep them fertilized, keep them hydrated... Its amazing what plants do in a small space.

I agree with Daisy. Once they flower the foliage will die back pretty quickly. As long as you keep the rose well fed there shouldn't be much competition from the bulbs.
