I hope that everyone I sent this plant to is happy with it. One of my favorite house plants and often hard to find for sale. Let me share one secret I have discovered after growing them for years. Like any other plant, I started with a small one in a pot. It grew, put out pups and spread, filing the pot. Nice looking specimen. Then it would start to die back. To make a long story short - do not let it fill the pot. Keep dividing it up and putting pieces into other pots. Share with friends. Aromatic foliage is special, IMO. I'll have more to share by next Spring. Gene

I am very happy with the plant. Thank you for sharing.

Has it ever flowered for you?

I will probably be okay for a good long time in a pot. I like to use my plants as part of the decor because I have large rooms. I buy extra large decorative pots so I like plants that will grow large for them. I have one ginger that started to die in the pot but since I have started using the large floor decorative pots they take a while for the roots to fill the larger pots.

I take them out on the patio in the summer and put them in the sun and fertilized once a month.

I put the one you sent in a pot with the variegated ginger and it looks like it is trying to bloom or it could be a juvenile leaf coming up. It looks like a bloom stalk though. I will report if it blooms before fall and I have to bring my plants in for the winter. I have about 6 more weeks before everything has to come inside for the winter.

I am trying to find a spot mine likes. It is a bit puny but we will figure it out.

It does not have to have a lot of light. Think Philodendron. Did you get any lights yet? Gene

That's a good tip, Gene, thank you. So far my plants are happy, potted outside in a shady spot. I will keep an eye out for when they start filling up the pot though. I LOVE how they smell Lovey dubby

Not yet. I have the fixture, and will get the lights set up this weekend. T5's, correct? I am not happy with it's soil. I bought some Soil Prep and mix it with Chicken Grit and perlite, but somehow, it just holds moisture too long. I got a huge bag of it, and I think I am going to just use it outside.

I love the smell also, and especially love how it reminds me of plants in Hawaii when I was a very little girl. I will get it. I love your tips. Thank you.
