...Might be later than usual, but I have plenty that I didn't plant and I was dying to plant anything! Sooo.. my super high-tech, time intensive method of seed starting has yielded happy results for me.

Thumb of 2016-09-10/ShakespearesGarden/430381

Six out of 7 seeds germinated... They're now happily nested in dirt, upright and out of the cats' reaches...

*updated* I found the seventh germinated seed when I took the rest of the soil out of the little baggie. So 7 out of 7 for one set...

We shall see.... I'm 0-fer on this stage too... What is giving you fits?

I had good germination this spring, but my cats ate the seedlings or gnawed them to death. So I was super excited to see these green babies...
Now to keep them going for a bit so I can get them in the ground, cold frame them, something!

If my cats ruin these ones, I may have two lovely new tennis rackets Thumbs down

@ediblelandscapingsc Thank You!
They are Lullaby Baby x Chosen Love. Both older varieties, as I've just recently been infected with the dayliliy-itis virus.
I pollinated and got pods from a bunch flowers- I'm wanting to see the range of features within the cross, probably more for second generation crosses than first generation.

Thumb of 2016-09-10/profesora/3ed29e. This is the second bloom from seedling Game Face X Rollercoaster Rush. The first bloom was not as impressive.

Thank you very much everybody.

I am very happy with this seedling. The next three years should reveal
other characteristics that I hope it inherited from the parents.

Lovely vivid green throat, Gerry.

I will spare you all the sight of today's seedling... Rolling my eyes.

Gerry - Lovely! Lovey dubby

I have a seedling from Game Face (as a pollen parent). I can see some similarities between your seedling and mine. When I saw your photos, I immediately thought of my seedling.:

Is the petal color of yours more of a peach color or is it a light pink? Similar ruffled edging and eye and border color. I love those pronounced large ruffles on yours! It will be interesting to see what it becomes as it stabilizes over a 3 year period. Mine unfortunately shows some rust.

Mystic Image x Game Face looks amazing Becky. How many seedlings of Mystic Image x Game Face did you go through to get this one?

@profesora I didn't see any info for Rollecoaster Rush. I tried it with a couple of different spellings. What can you tell me about it?

Becky, I like the colors and the style of your seedling. And, yes, I noticed the resemblance.
I have only five seedlings from this cross and this is the first to bloom.

Thank you to all for the kind compliments. I can't take credit for the cross, though. LA purchase.

Daniel - I had 3 seeds of that particular cross. One seed never germinated, the other 2 (which includes the one above labeled as DDD13) are still alive. DDD14 has not bloomed yet for me. Probably next year.

I also have several other crosses using Game Face. I did not do the crossing of these seeds. They were LA purchases. I liked the ruffling and look of the parents, so I bid and won those auctions for quite cheap! (I had very few bidding against me for some reason. Probably timing and luck!) I think the above Mystic Image x Game Face seeds were actually Bonus Seeds from a different seed cross auction win.

Here is another cross of Game Face. This is Game Face x Born to Be Wild (DDD17):
Thumb of 2016-09-12/beckygardener/f089ca

Born to Be Wild is the pollen parent of Game Face as seen above in my pedigree chart. I thought it interesting that this particular bloom had much more pastel colors. Just goes to show that you never really know for sure what you will get until the seedling blooms. And even then, they can change over the first 3 years of blooming before they stabilize and may wind up looking different than their first bloom.

Gerry - Do you see the resemblance in this one, too? Game Face is apparent, to my eyes.
