You can see the ruffles on this cultivar .... which actually look like teeth ..... this is where Gerry's seedling bloom gets those big ruffles (molar teeth)! A very nice cross, indeed!

The 'Emerald Starbust' seedling is beautiful, Anna.

I had maiden bloom on another seedling today, however, apparently our nights have gotten cold enough now that nothing has opened well these past few days. Glare
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

My seedlings are starting to flower. I have a problem with some of them toppling - becoming disconnected from their roots. This one I staked to try and get it through to blooming but last night the scape must have snapped. I continued the scape in sugar and water today.

These are taken by flash tonight. The colour is about right - a muddy orangey red. Lol.

Parents VOLARIS X OLD TANGIERS. This is the first of my seedlings to flower where I actually did the pollinating and not a bee. Not a glorious start. This one took 6 months from germination to flowering

PS Added. I was all ready for BORN TO BE WILD genes to come shining through. For them, I bought VOLARIS. Sniff.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
