I've had this Cissus rotundifolia since 2008 and almost lost it to winter freezes a few times. It seems to have put on a lot of growth this summer so it must like it's newest location on the pool deck. I was turning it this afternoon so that it will keep a more uniform habit and found a little tree frog resting on a leaf. I need to check this critter out more thoroughly because it may be one of the invasive Cuban Tree Frogs and if so, will have to be humanely euthanized.

@Christine, your Banana does look like Blood Banana (Musa acuminata 'Zebrina') I've had one since 2008 and it's still in a pot; one of these days I'll get it in the ground.

This grew like a gangbuster for me. I just bought it about 3-4 months ago and I think it's tripled in size.

Mind you it's not Summer anymore and growth-wise, I think it's the same, but it's going mad with flowers!

Thank You!

I find this plant difficult to kill. Between my forgetful watering habits/sometimes tendency to overwater, it's thriving. *Blush*

Purple oxalis also grew like mad. I have them planted in with a fan palm. I repotted the fan palm and put a 'select' amount of purple oxalis back in. They filled back in. I just checked and found those huge white tubers of them. Gita knows what I mean.
Check this out

a relative of them is used as a vegetable. I've seen that in Johnny's Select Seeds catalog.
Plant it and they will come.

I dug out all the Oxalis growing in my 3 windowboxes. Got quite a bunch of plants--Now I have 8 or more pots of it. Potted them all in asst. pots and will winter them over in my Shop. I have nowhere else to put them....

Yes! Many of them had the tubers on them too...I like to see these big, fat tubers with the tiny. orange bulbs sitting on top of them.

Does anyone know, for sure, if these wouls survive our winter here?
I could put them all in my shed--even though air floes in and out of it.

@Gitaga, if Oxalis will winter over for you please share pics next year. It will die back and and return in spring, correct? Good luck with this. That is a very healthy spider, Georgia! I love the variety you have.
