Ask a Question forum: identifying a certain plant

This plant has sparked the curiousity of many different people I know as well as myself. I have looked online and in my books and I can't identify it. My best guess was it looked like poinsettia leaves, so I googled euphorbia and no images were like it. Please let me know what it is if you can. Otherwise I will have to write the home owner. I'm hoping someone will know it.

Welcome! I agree it looks like an Amaranthus, there are many different ones, here's one example:
