Welcome! I don't grow the plant because it wouldn't survive the winters here so I hope someone else can help you. It doesn't seem to have that reputation although the top growth can be enthusiastic. Perhaps @froggardener could comment, being the only person listed in the NGA database as growing it.

Hi, it has not been invasive in my garden or any of my kids and I have had it in several places and gardens.
It certainly has new growth from roots but not at an alarming rate and that's a plus for me because I can share it
Gardening is learning, learning, learning. That's the fun of them.
