Thread OP

Hello, I am an amateur woodworker. I am planning to make some trellis' to sell, but I am clueless about gardening. Does anyone have any ideas about what size of trellis' (height, width, spacing) and for which plants? I live in South Florida but am also can ship some trellis' to other places in the USA. Thanks in advanced. Brad Luthin

Welcome!
When my parents moved to Florida I designed and built some trellises for their climbing/vining plants. I made them 2 feet wide and 4 feet tall (not counting the part that is planted in the ground). That size worked for Honeysuckle and a Night Blooming Jasmine. Other plants might require different sizes. If you plan to mail these it might be best for you to investigate shipping costs; also, would be customers be willing to do some assembly?

There is a Forum here on NGA where people can post items for sale:

Here is a trellis I designed but *Blush* forgot to include diagonal bracing D'Oh! so it ended up a bit wonky once the plants began to climb.

I have found that the store bought trellis are always to darn small and flimsy in my gardens. I would look at trellis designs online, in stores, specialty garden shops and good old fashioned libraries for all sorts of ideas on design, style and purpose.
