That's a good angle. It's a place where there are 3 tiers that raise up slowly from one to another. A really good effect for a rock garden. I didn't do it on purpose, I just had to deal with a small slope and when you throw enough rocks together good things will happen.
The scary thing is... when I labelled this picture I could remember all of the varieties in the picture... without looking them up. Blinking

Tim, your picture is just what I needed to get an idea for the edge of our patio. The dirt slopes away from the concrete and currently I get volunteer petunias every year growing around the patio, which I love, but would like to add other plants that will fill the area during the times when the petunias aren't in bloom.

I won some semps from The Sempervivum Patch in the June not-a-raffle-raffle and they are in pots now, but happily awaiting a place to grow and spread. I just need to get some rocks!
