I want to start a new plant from this . I never owned one these type of plants before. How would I do this and have it survive. I want it as an indoor plant. Not sure it will do well outdoor during the winter. I live in Central Northern Manitoba. I potted it out of my flowerbed, I originally bought it from a green house, not in this condition or as high though. It had gone like this when I potted it. I was wondering can I take a cutting from it. Plant it in new soil with some growth hormone ?

Botanical name Artemisia abrotanum.
@plantmanager has this plant. Let's see if she can tell you how to propagate it.

I did some checking as it can be roots if you take cuttings.
Found a link with informaiton for a different type of Artemisia but the rooting process should be about the same:

My favorite propagation method is the Forsythe Pot (I sound like a broken records because I always say that *Blush* ).

Thanks, Greene! Mine survive outdoors in zone 7b, but you must be much colder in Canada. I have taken cuttings and they rooted quickly and easily. I also have just buried a piece that is still attached to the mother plant, and when it roots, I cut it loose. I think it's so leggy because it hasn't had enough light or water. It seems to take much more water than my other types of artemisia.
