Keeping Track of Your Garden Beds and Plants Using a Camera

By beckygardener

Many gardeners need a way to easily keep track of their garden beds as well as their plants (especially if they are hybridizing). With camera in hand, I came up with two ideas that have worked for me.

Hi Becky--Great article! In addition to your suggestions, I use the photo method for my bulb beds as well. I photograph the plants in each bed when they're blooming in the spring. On each photograph I note

the bulbs to dig up because they're no longer sending up blooms.
spaces where I want to plant more bulbs
the varieties I want to plant in the fall

Best of all, I know where the bulbs are located when I dig in fall and plant in spring.--Larry

That is a terrific idea, Larry! Thumbs up

One I would not have thought of because I don't have to dig up plants (bulbs) after bloom season is over.
