I'm going to ask about them the next time I go to a local nursery.

Lin, if you look for cast iron plant, it's probably with the landscape plants. It's hardy up here and often seen around the bases of trees.

Tarev, that variegated one is awesome! Don't think I've seen that before.

Keep the great pics coming everyone! It's unlikely I'll see any house plants for sale until spring. Those spaces are too cold for them for a few months & are full of trees & lights for now.

Thanks Tiffany! I was initially trying to look for more clivia, if there is a variegated one, but am glad with this one..first time to have it! Had to see comments elsewhere how they repot it, and most say not to disturb the roots too much, so I repotted it carefully, not teasing the roots. Maybe they are like bougainvillea, temperamental when roots get too disturbed.

Added this one today! Labeled assorted foliage! Anyone familiar with this? Theres a lovely pink variegation and glittery tones on some of the leaves, I removed a few mushy leaves and there was a couple of broken pieces in the pot too maybe I can propagate them.

Gorgeous! Looks like some form of Tradescantia fluminensis:

Not one I've had but it should propagate as easily as the others.

Another addition today! I think its a type of crested opuntia?
Really took a risk this time because there was a worker there watering about a dozen cacti totally oblivious to what he was doing Blinking
I saw some others but they where not in good condition! some pretty large ones with white flowers on top and mushy at the bottom they looked like mammillaria! Also saw a dozen echeveria agavoides sprayed with gold, silver, red, and blue glitter paint.. what a waste of such beautiful plants.

Sy, that one you chose sure is a beauty!

Regarding the gold, silver, red etc. glitter ... with the holidays approaching, I'm seeing Norfolk Island Pines, Poinsettias etc. covered in glitter at nurseries and garden centers here too. Sad

It is lin thank. tho I've found a few mushy parts on the undersides at the base where rot has set in and on a few other growths it looks like something has been eating it!
Its on top of the fireplace drying out a little first before I remove its soil, you can see how wet it is. Was.

Hello Sy, your plant still looks promising. Just change that soil to a more grittier mix, it seems too rich and too moisture retentive. Allow the plant to dry a bit and then put it back in grittier mix.

Yeah i noticed that tarev thanks Thumbs up
I try to avoid the monstrose or grafted types but end up buying one eventually. the crested forms tho are a less common find for me personally that's why I took the risk with this one.

Fastest growing plant I've seen. 6-7 weeks ago I received a 6" sprig, stuck in a 4" pot. In about 3 weeks I was cutting it back to plant more stems, about 9 stems now, roots out te bottom of the 4" pot so I moved it to a 8" basket. It is going to take over the living room at this rate.

Sy, I also love crested succulents Lovey dubby
I think your plant, is similar to my Opuntia cylindrica cristata, these were photos 2011 to 2013, if given wider space it can spread horizontally a bit but still stay in that crested form, just not too tight. It is quite a forgiving plant, since I leave it outdoors all year round, and during our rainy months, it tends to suffer from cold damage but it bounces back later. Our long, dry hot months helps it recover nicely.

I had considered the cylindrica @tarev! The other one I saw similarities in was eve's needle. I would agree for now its the same as yours. Crested Eve's Needle (Austrocylindropuntia subulata 'Cristata')
