Keeping Track of Your Garden Beds and Plants Using a Camera

By beckygardener

Many gardeners need a way to easily keep track of their garden beds as well as their plants (especially if they are hybridizing). With camera in hand, I came up with two ideas that have worked for me.

I like the idea of the camera. I think that I would like it just to start it only or twice a month. Then I could see what is going to come in bloom or not.

That could certainly work to keep tracking of bloom time for all plants in any area.

Good idea! Thumbs up

A camera was a must for me 3 yrs ago. Moved here and knew almost nothing that was planted out front -- thus, it became my '' Garden of Surprises ''.
Took photos daily (even in snow).
The following year, had a good idea of what would start and where (except for the plants who would send tubers to areas not been the previous year)... nothing like Gardening to keep you on your toes -
and knees !
Very, very good article, beckygardener! Thumbs up

Peggy - Thank you!

I have purposely transplanted plants into my garden areas. And even then, I forget or lose tags as to what they are. I can not even imagine moving into a new home with existing garden spaces not knowing what many of the plants even are! That will be a fun and demanding mystery to solve! Good luck! And great idea using your camera to record what is popping up when and where! Thumbs up
