I have a young Rose of Sharon bush that as yet produces few flowers. This year the buds all fell off before opening all the way. They did open enough to show the color of the petals. The little green "leaves" around the bud might have begun to turn yellow. I can't be sure.

Any ideas?

If it is young enough to only produce few flowers before, maybe something stressed it and made it drop these. Usually pretty tough shrubs.
Plant it and they will come.

Simple answer, stress. Question is, what is the source of the stress? Possible answers, to much water, not enough water, pest such as aphids, mealy bugs, or thrips.
