About 7-8 years ago I received 4 very small white lilacs in a plant trade. I planted them in a group setting. They get almost full sun all day. After all thease years they are about 18-24 in tall and have been multiplying so now I have about 15 or more plants. But they have never had any blooms or buds. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Yes, it is an appropriate forum. They don't seem to have grown very much. Do you know the pH of your soil? Is it possible to post a picture of them?

It could be you are getting a late freeze and the buds are dying. Next Spring keep an eye on it and see if you see any buds. If you see buds and then you get a late frost you will be able to tell that it is the late freezes.

The soil might be to rich. They do not like rich soil. I had problems with a purple one when I had a service fertilizing and weed control for the lawn. They were spraying the bush area.

They need late afternoon sun especially.
