Like the roses hibernate in winter in our colder climates, in the lower Arizona deserts, Some of our roses hibernate in the hottest parts of summer. Even putting out rose hips. Only to return in the fall.

This is Veteran's Honor, a wonderful red rose. In the background is a blue ice cypress. It's the closest I could get to grow here, to replace the tree I love and cannot grow here. The Colorado Blue Spruce.

And this is Hoot Owl. A wonderful miniature rose, that grows more like a shrub. It is planted at the base of my Texas Mountain Olive.
