I was in a restaurant in San Francisco a week ago and saw this plant sitting near the cashier's register. At first I thought it was artificial, but on a closer look, was surprised to see it was real! Even the flowers looked like it was artificial..they are so lovely! I asked the owner if she knows what it is, but all she can say is it is a tropical plant. She says it actively blooms yearly around Fall. The leaves are succulent and variegated, but the flowers are really so beautiful!

Anyone knows her?

I clicked on the thread ..that is a Hebe too? Wow, really lovely plants! That other Hebe seems to have a different leafing pattern..but the flower blooms looks a bit similar. Lucky of them who has this..now I will try to find this Hebe speciosa locally!

Yes, apparently Hebe comes in dwarf form as well as shrub to small tree size! They sure are beautiful.

Could be this one Hebe (Veronica x franciscana 'Variegata') one of my favorites. In fact I picked up a couple last week.

I had this in my garden in England when I lived there so I don't think it can be classified as 'Tropical'.

I think this is Hebe 'Silver Queen', a very old cultivar.

It's a regular one sold here at garden centres tarev, but I've never had one! I have had others but hard winters have done them in, I have seedlings from a red one which always manages to regrow one way or the other.
