For desk lamps you can look at thrift stores or flea markets.
Don't know your exact area but I found a listing for all the flea markets in Maryland. One of them is sure to be within driving distance.

Pamela, you would need some supplemental lighting for Crossandra and Pentas to keep going through the winter there. A couple of those nail tech lamps or desk lamps would be awesome if you can get your hands on them. Then put in the right bulbs.

If you're planning to have a bunch of plants indoors over the winter, two basement windows probably isn't going to cut it for most of them.
