Hi All,

I recently noticed my stand of Orienpet Lilies have a bad case of Crescent Marked Lily Aphids that are covering the undersides of the leaves. This is a new variety of aphid for me. Is blasting them off with the water hose sufficient or should I hit them with some soapy water/insecticidal soap? I fear they will land on or crawl onto my other plants and start feeding on those if I just blast them off with plain water. However, the soapy water/insecticidal soap route is going to be pretty time consuming to get under every leaf of the stand of 10-15, 8 ft tall lilies. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance! Smiling
Danita

I don't know why you couldn't use an Ortho dial ' spray that you hook up to the hose with the soap. That would be fast.

Angry aphids-we use a 50/50 mix of veg oil/dishwashing liquid, then dilute 50/50 mix/water..it works after about 3 applications, but on some of my liliums the foliage was marked/deformed..So im a bit reluctant to use it again..[too strong maybe?] Confused
