I just uploaded the new version of Garden.org. The layout has been completely rewritten from scratch, and there are a lot of new features, with even more coming soon.

Have a look around, and enjoy the new site. Smiling

A couple points you might want to know about:

1) You can now customize the homepage! Go to the homepage, scroll to the bottom and click on "Customize your homepage" at the bottom.

2) If you're missing the daily changing site banners, you still see them in the community areas of the site. Additionally, you can go to your preferences and enable them to appear on all pages.

Ha! I must have hit the "page refresh" about 30 seconds after you uploaded the new version. Whoa! Shock! Hilarious!

Lestv said:There is waaaaayyyy too much white space. Narrow writing boxes surrounded by white, white and more white. Please make the boxes (or whatever you call this space I am currently writing in) larger!!

Much of the white space depends on how big your browser window is. It is programmed to try to find the right balance between the columns of the site. So if your browser window is very narrow to start with, that can make the columns pretty narrow. Try resizing your browser window a bit bigger and see if that helps you.

I took forever to just find this, I dont know what resizing your browser means, muss less how to do it. So goes life, I could be at the hospital...thats bad, this is just...well...frustrating. No biggie.

Nice new changes, but I agree with the amount of white space. It's too bright and blinding, I had to lower the brightness on my monitor.

Are we able to customize the white background to another color?

I am not understanding the resizing of the browser window as it is very large. I have huge amounts of white space and this tiny box.

Where exactly are the site banners? The iris forum has the same banner as the home page.
- edit- It only shows up when you open a forum thread. If you are just in the forum list there is no banner. Which mean you only see the picture if you are actively in a thread.

Is there a way I can put my updated threads at the top of the page instead of having to scroll all the way to the bottom to find them?

Leslie could I get a screenshot of what this small area is that you're referring to?

Thank you for changing it from white, to baby blue, that's a little easier on the eyes.

This will be a learning curve for most of us, but I'm sure it will soon be easier and better for us than before. Right now I've just been exploring around, and I've found all that I need at the moment. I'll try to customize my front page soon. Thanks for all of your hard work, Dave and Trish!

Sorry - but one more question about the site banners.

If you see the banner only when you open a thread, and it doesn't list what the day's banner is anywhere within that page (it used to list "todays banner is "this" by "who"), do you have to go to the site banner forum every time to find out?
