Happy, happy! Both spikes on my NOID Den. have opened. The second spike doesn't have near as many blooms, but I'm still surprised that it even put 2 out!

Thanks Lindsey!
I love your Phrag. Umbriel. What are your growing conditions for it? Inside? Outside? Shade? Sun?
I'd love to try one myself!

Lindsey, I found a match for that pretty orchid of yours (It has been registered). It is now called Epicatarthron [Eth.] Hilo Adventure (C. Motte Spot x Ert. Kevin Mark Ragbir). So, all you need on your tag is: Ert. Hilo Adventure. You must put Mark in Kevin Ragbir's name to be correct. I love the form of this one and it comes from Ert. Kevin Mark Ragbir. The Motte Spot adds the color.

Raining hard here again and I have a library talk at 6:30 tonight. Then another tomorrow at 10:00 AM. I keep passing myself going and coming.

Thank's Jim...I had written it down..but since it didn't even resemble motte spot or Kevin Ragbir.. Blinking
Tara, I've been growing this on a window sill in the house that gets morning light...suitable for an African violet ..When the last flower falls, I'll put it outside somewhere it won't get burned...and then ( I guess bring it in for the winter) I'm really not sure how low a temperature it can take...but I have been told by Jim that it does not like the Florida heat so that's why I brought it inside. It gets watered everyday but has missed all the feeding as it's my only house plant.

A real 'energizer bloomer' my Blc. Punakea has two nice spikes opening. Another spike open on Star Ruby 'Xanadu' too.

Nope, Punakea is one I've had for years that I got when a local grower was closing his greenhouse. Or, I should say his son was, as the old fellow had a fall and ended up in a nursing home. I called it the "orchid orphanage" for a long time because I'd go over there (it was just along the way from me) and "adopt" 20 orchids at a time, about $3 each.

Most of them have gone the way of the dodo, due to my inexperience but a few have become some of my champions like Punakea, Little Lulu and Renate, and I think at least one of the Yellow Birds came from there as well.

I have several. The "Mother" plant is at least 10 years old and she is one of the two oldest orchids I have. She has a nice citrus/floral fragrance.

Btw I am pleased as punch!! Smiling I remember asking some time ago how some forums have pictures on the right side of their home page and didn't really get an answer then. Well, playing around with the new layout I realized I can pop pictures into the moderator box on the right. It seems I had missed that feature, it must have been there for a while.
I am now putting it to good use? Smiling

That's a really nice addition, Ursula.

I have some "Adios" pictures, last shots of my David Sander and Chief Sweet Orange with the backlighting making it glow.
