Hi ..

I purchased a wedding gift made with Ontario's gemstone, the Amethyst.
A beautiful purply mauve stone ..
I left the box for a bit and decided I should wrap it as the wedding is coming up.
I lifted the piece out, and, Blinking a piece of Amethyst fell off !
I called the store . and they suggested I simply glue it back (they also sent me a gift card)
It is quite a simple fix, but, I want to use the PROPER glue.

Anyone with a 'glue clue' Smiling

Many thanks

~M~

Call them back and ask what kind of glue they recommend.

Good suggestion. If I was doing this, I'd use a very small drop of clear super glue. Gene

I did ask them, and, they said any kind of crazy glue would work .. but, this is just a salesperson talking, not an artisan.. the pieces sit on an Agate base .. I don't want to screw it up ..

Here is a site that reviews glues used in jewelry making I know that is not what you are doing, but it might give you an idea as to which would work for your application.

Thanks so much Betty .. now I just have to hope I can find E6000 in Canada as that seems to be the best.

Home depot too.

I have repaired costume jewelry with it and no issues.

I was also going to suggest E6000. Be sure to use it outdoors and don't breathe in any fumes. That stuff is extremely toxic, but it's the best for jewelry.

I haven't researched it much, but did read it possibly could cause cancer and liver problems. I use it, but always outside, and if you do use it inside, use a mask and good ventilation. I also grind glass, and that requires masks and water to make it safe.
