I'm in Zone 9b, temps are still in the 90's and if anything like last year will range between mid 70's to mid 80's through to the New Year.
So I thought I would experiment with a winter crop of Pole Beans!!!
Took this picture yesterday (1st October), Beans have already germinated and are beginning their upward journey ... Wish me Luck.

I'm in Sunset Zone 17, far Northwestern California and I always have to have my green beans....when we were still down in Fallbrook, due to gopher issues and no raised beds, I had about 40 5 gallon pots growing my bush French Filet green beans and they did well.
Here we have deer issues, but I've now managed to have an area enclosed for protection and there's a long paved strip that i'm working with for veggie production.....one answer was to use the trailer for our riding mower as I do not need to use it up here...these beans have finished....

Then there is the shallow bed done with concrete blocks over this paved strip, we'll see how that works....

They do very well in the plastic storage bins...I already had a bunch of those...thse are newly planted, but taking off quickly, I should get one more crop yet...though these are looking more pole-ish than bush.

Welcome! English Gardner! I tried planting bush Roma beans twice in Earth Boxes this summer. Both times, just when they were blooming, we got hit with heat waves and they got fried. After the one this past week, I'm waiting for cooler weather to try snow peas.

Woohoo! We have water falling from the sky! I even heard some thunder...I think. This is coming from the SW, which is unusual, and probably won't be much, but enough to sprout weeds, and chance of more Fri. We might even reach our "normal" for Oct.(0.36")
