This flowering plant was given to me and I have no clue what it is, but I'm sure it's common.

I think that is a Zinnia of some sort.

I agree Zinnia, maybe one of the Profusion zinnias, the nearest I can think of to the colour is Profusion Fire.

Thanks I thought it looked similar to a zinnia but it's compact growth and Profuse blooms had me stumped. I agree it looks just like Profusion Fire thank you both so much. Now if I can just figure out what this one is http://garden.org/thread/go/57...
