I'm trading in my 18 yr. old snow blower for a new one this week. Just went out and took pix of the old one. At least for memories sake, I encourage you to take lots of pix of things that might never otherwise occur to you to do. Your car, your home, your backyard, your living room. Of course your gardens and plants. Better than having a receipt for that stereo is having a pix of it sitting on your bookshelf. Things change and we all have poor memories. Especially since digital pix cost nothing. I have had something like 25 cars in my life time and I have just one pix of one of them. That's a shame. Where you work, your cubicle, the local stores you shop at, the road you live on, your church, where you went to school, your kitchen, etc. Gene

Gene, a great message, for practical and sentimental reasons. Matter of fact, I suggest taking pictures of complicated things you're going to take apart, because there's always and extra screw or washer that seems to get left over after everything is put back together.

I was told by my insurance agent several years ago to take pictures of personal belongings and update them at least once a year. The reasoning behind this, he said, is that you're under such stress after a disaster that you won't remember a lot of what you have. Unfortunately, I haven't updated mine for several years, but I remember his advice!
When all is said and done, there’s more said than done.

I have a household of what I call 'crapola' now but have kept for memories sake. Now I'm taking pictures of this 'stuff ' and either pitching things or donating anything that's in decent enough condition to donate. So cathartic!
Highly recommend doing this even if slowly.
