This Rose was planted by the previous owner of my home. I've been asked what the rose name is. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, it will be difficult to provide an exact ID without more information about the size of the bloom, the habit of the rose bush, the approximate age of the rose, etc. I know of at least a dozen roses that produce blooms similar to the one in your photo.

I appreciate your help. The largest the blooms get is 4". The Rose is at least 10 years old. I'm new to taking care of roses, so I'm not sure what you mean by the habit of the rose bush.

The bloom size and age can help me narrow down the choices nicely. It excludes all of the mini-roses and new roses.

The habit is the way the rose grows. Is it a climber or does it stay relatively short? Would you call it bushy all the way from the bottom to the top, or does it tend to grow upright, with "bare ankles" and most of the foliage and blooms at the top? How tall is the rose bush? Do the blooms appear in clusters or singly, one bloom at the top of each cane (or branch)?

I am attaching a photo of the rose bloom fully open. It is 4.5 inches across. I am also attaching a picture of the rose bush. It fills in from the bottom, and only has one bloom per branch. Right now, the bush is about 2.5 feet tall, from the ground to the tallest part. I am only guessing at the age, approx 10 years, based on when I purchased my house. The previous owners lived in the house since 1976, when it was built, so it could be older. Sorry for the blurry photo of the rose bush. It's really foggy here today!

This is all great information. The approximate age of at least 10 years is necessary because so many new roses come out every year, and this excludes them and excludes the known weaklings that probably wouldn't have lasted 10 years. It sounds like a hybrid tea. I'll be back with a list of possibilities soon.

Sherlocksmama, I used "yellow reverse" as the identifying feature in my search because the stripes that seem prominent in your first photo are gone in the second, and because it's sometimes difficult to capture the correct color on camera, so it's hard to tell whether your rose is an orange blend or a red blend.

Thank you so much! Mine starts out very orange/yellow and then turns more pink/yellow as it opens up fully. The pictures I posted are dead on to the colors in real life. I am going to research the roses you posted and I think I can center in on which one it is. You've been a huge help!!
