BTW to all you Dave is creating a Cactus/Succulent forum, and we all need to make sure to make it lively - he says he will remove it if it looks dead.... (I agree - no good to have dead forums!) So anyone who is interested, please head over there (once it's up and running!!) I will be over there and i know Hetty was getting this going!
hope to see everyone there

Um, can't think of much more than a cup of coffe right now. OK, and I hope the new cactus and succunent forum does well. I might have a question in a day or two.

I hope all have got those babies in the grownd and mine are just showing the start of tiny leaves im keeping on the dryer side did give them a little bit of fertilizer and lots of sun wish our temps where a bit warmer( wtf did i say warmer temps....slap hand...) my other older ones are getting ready to bloom again soon as they stop i have to re pot i got 40ish from different places ALL so pot bound but most have been blooming so im trying to get them when done blooming and get them in bigger pots. Most of my babies i started in i call gang potting 5-6 per pot big black nursery pots they have a lot of room to send new roots deep and the pots are black witch gets warmer in the sun and the size holds the heat longer threw the night.I also have them on a big stack of pave bricks which holds the heat into the night. I will post pics later of my babies

I see a cactus/succulent forum but it seems to have been here awhile. Is this going to be a different one?

OK, pics taken Nov. 1.
Leaves growing, I'm being generous with the fertilizer. I cheat, you know, by living in Zone 16. Minimum temperature 65. Brrrr! Lately days are about 87 degrees, and nights 70 degrees. I'll go find celsius if anyone wants to know.

Some are growing flower buds. A sign of stress, but that's OK by me, we'll see what these buggars look like!

We live in the same type of climate, our temps are exactly that these days. I find it really, really cold if it gets down to 70ºF. We've got the down comforter on the bed and I'm wearing my Uggs at night Smiling Days are beautiful though, the humidity is lower and it feels cool and fresh at 87º. Great cheating Rolling on the floor laughing

WOW I would love some of your weather, I was supposed to fly to CT. so visit my son today but had to cancel due to the facy the whole area has no power and 18" of snow, and regardless of thos conditions the airline will not refund our money,(my daughter too) because the planes are still flying, but did you see on the news that one plane was on the runway for 14hrs, with NO bathroom available, naturaly there were passengers that could not hold it that long.

Doris, is your leg chained to the wall? Planes come and go from all sorts of places. But then moving is a major hassle.

I found some ruins of a beach club that I want to buy, oh, me. Lots and lots and lots of sunlight there, unlike the shady NE hillside full of trees where my house is now.

Hey Mike, do you have anymore of the double purples that you wanted to sell?

Mike, if you send a plant now, don't do anything to it! Wrap it, as is, growing in the pot, in plastic or maybe two wraps of waxed paper, with tape around the stem. Then pack carefully, as you do, with wadded newspaper, and in a sturdy box. JT sent me two plants this way, and they didn't blink at the trip! Had grown a bit in transit, and now are giants. Well, big anyways.

Yeah.... it probably wouldn't be worth the postage for just one, so unless you have anything else (not more Amaryllis, thank you - they're sprouting all over the place!!!) it would probably be at least a couple.
