Store Your Bulbs for the Winter

When I have dried bulbs that do not need stratification, I store them in an empty coffee can with shredded paper until I'm ready to get them going again in spring.

I have had little occassion to store any bulbs --- in fact only 2 times in my life & I happened to have some sawdust handy at the time so I used that. But now I live more northerly than before & the situation may present itself again. This is a great tip to know because newspaper is always readily available. Thanks Ginger!

What a great idea for all that shredded paper I've been sending to the recyclers! Thanks!

Thanks...glad you liked the tip I tip my hat to you. It's a maybe situation here whether the caladiums will come back so I put them in coffee cans with shredded paper...ie: all those "you are pre approved" to go further in debt notices. They get shredded anyway, so might as well be put to good use. Rolling my eyes.

LOL, I just finished putting a couple of those in the bag destined for the shredder, not five minutes ago!
