September and October are work months for myself, reworking beds, lining out selected seedling and sale plants, moving new seedlings from the field to the newly reworked beds (boxes), planting newly arrived daylilies, and planting a small fall garden.
Every now and then I see something when lining out the two year old seedling that's unexpected. Last year when I pulled this seedling from the field as a one year old it was a clump of 7-8 fans and I planted it as it was, I never divide seedlings the first year. When I divided it a few days ago it had increased to 40+ fans. I divided it into six small clumps, the fastest increase I have seen in a daylily.
