This year I have more seedlings to grow than the past, they are 20 or 25 for now. We don't have much space but it happens my husband has neon lights in the garage for when he works on our motorcycles. So we put a shelf under one of those and ta-daaaaaaa my seedlings have a new place to grow. I checked with a luxometer and they are getting light as in full sun. I still have some to plant but not many. I hope they will grow well, in the basement temperature drops to 50 F in winter. I don't intend to use more electricity to heat them. The light uses 36W per hour and that's all I can afford to not add too much on our bills.
Now I have to be careful with watering because the past year I almost killed my seedlings with too much water!
Thanks for looking!

Hurray! I'm so happy you found a solution for lighting your seedlings. Yes, you will want to watch your watering. The cool temperature could make the seedlings grow slower than they normally would if it were slightly warmer (in the 60 - 65 degree range) and over watering will cause problems as you already know.

Nice setup, Sabrina Thumbs up It is different growing seedlings indoors. I really had to watch the watering when I did it over the winter one year.

Thanks Vickie. The shelf is more crowded now, I added 4 more pots. I try to always check the potting mix sticking one finger in it to be sure it's dry.
