Is this a Rabbit's Foot Fern? I got this plant from my mother (who got it from her mother) and she said she was told it was a Spider Leg Fern. Looking online, I've seen pictures for the Rabbit's Foot Fern that look similar but have also seen some people referring to Tarantula Fern or Spider's Leg Fern.

Welcome!

The genus is Davallia. There are several that have the same look. I have one I have always called a "Squirrel's Foot Fern" but I have heard them referred to by several common names. Common names are misleading and often refer to more than one plant. For instance, some Polypodium (Phlebodium) are also called Rabbit's Foot fern.

I agree with Daisy, common names can be misleading, but yours in fact does look like... Rabbit's Foot Fern (Davallia fejeensis)

Thank you very much for the replies DaisyI and terrafirma; great to know what the plant's actually called. Since they seem to have many names, maybe I'll keep "Tarantula Leg" or "Spider Leg" as a nickname for the wow factor. :)

Thanks again,
Kris
