I have a peace Lilly that I just can't get going. When I first got it, it had a nice flower and it withered. I transplanted it into a bigger pot hoping that would help but it still isn't doing too well. I water it once a week and it gets plenty of sun where it sits so I don't have to move it. Any suggestions

In your photos, the new growth looks healthy. Maybe the plant is starting to bounce back to health.

I have a peace lily and it just sits in wet soil(not permitted to dry out). It grows fine even though I haven't fed it in two years(I should get some liquid fertilizer). My mom said the peace lilies at the mall sit in five gallon buckets of just water(no soil) inside of decorative pots.

Your pot has a basin so you could keep the plant pretty moist.

Some people use peace lilies in Betta fish aquariums too.

I've had the same one for nearly 50 years (1968)... It gets lots of abuse and keeps on growing. They can take pretty low light conditions, and mine gets very little direct light. There is a skylight nearby, however. They'll lean towards a light source if they're not getting enough.
I don't water mine weekly.. it's usually longer, but it's in a fairly large pot. I might suggest letting it dry out a little more between watering. Stick your finger in the soil, and if it's still damp an inch down, hold off a little. If there's too much salt build up in the soil, the leaves will burn at the edges. I usually put mine outside in the summer in the shade so that the soil can be more thoroughly watered.
I've always called mine a Moana Loa plant. The name Peace Lily came later, but seems to be the accepted name now.

with Sherry - no direct sunlight! Mine will turn a nasty yellowish brown if they get too much sun. I have several and the best looking one lives in a large pot where it never dries out (or gets too soggy) in a light corner of our living room - but with no direct sunlight! I like to put mine outside too, again without direct sunlight and they seem to like that. Oh and did I mention that they do not like direct sunlight?

It would have been better off if you had left it in its original pot. Like most flowering plants, it performs best when kept moderately potbound. Peace Lilies have fragile root systems that are easily damaged when repotted, especially when done incorrectly. Yours will continue to struggle while it attempts to develop new roots. Normally, Peace Lilies need damp soil around their roots, but in this case, you have to be very careful to add only small quantities of water. Keep it close to a north or east window and keep it warm.

A word on nomenclature. Peace Lily is the common name for Spathiphyllum. There are now many varieties of Spathiphyllum, including Mauna Loa, which is one of the older varieties.
