Hi Agoo!

If you will go to the main section of this swap, look at the top left corner. There will be a link that says "Manage your own seed list". Click on that and it will open to a new page that has a link that says "Add a new item to your swap list". Click on that and then you will be able to list your first seed offering. If you need anything else, I'll stick around and help you out with any questions you have.

It occurred to me it would be cool to have a YouTube video showing a simple version, and then a detailed version, of how to add things to "Your Plant List", then add them to "Your Swap List", then add them to a swap.

A series of screenshots would be almost as good, and I started doing that once or twice, but I seem to have lost any links to such posts.

But there are two basic paths: one is to just type names into your swap list and wind up with just common names. I think that's the easiest path.

The other path drags along all the info in our database including photos, and it assures that your items will be listed as near-to-alphabetical as any list of plants' common names can be.

The other path is:

1. find your plant in THE plant database.

2. From the plant database entry, "ADD TO YOUR PLANT LIST"
(Probably do this for all the seeds you want to trade.)

3. Now, from Your Plant List, hit the three-corned "recycle" symbol to add it to YOUR Swap List.

4. I think now you can edit the quantity, number of packets, and comments like color, year harvested, or vendor and year-packed-for. And the crucial "Ready to Trade" pull-down.

The "Quantity" field is not how many trade packets you HAVE, it means how many trade packets you are OFFERING in THIS particular swap. Let's say you enter the quantity "3".

5. The final step is easily missed. From SOME screen (? Manage Your Swap List?) , you have to scroll through "YOUR Swap List" and check the green check marks that DND spoke of. Once you check the green checkmark, "3" packets of that variety will become visible to other members of the swap, and they can start putting stars on it.

If you are in two swaps, you will have two columns of check marks. If you check both, then members of EACH swap will see that they have been offered "3" packets. If the variety is popular, you need to have SIX packets available, 3 for each swap you "checked".

BTW, when you offer more packets of a variety than are taken, you keep the extras.

Agoo When your at your swap list
Species choice
Number of seeds offered and so forth ,

You have to use the green button that says add (under all that at the bottom) , later an update choice will be there

The point being You have to wait a minute for the plant to be added , waiting for the page (happens automatically ) that says add another plant ,or return to your list
If you don't wait for the automatic update , the plant won't add ..

Hopefully this explains it all and why it doesn't show up.

Good luck, Colleen! (I realize you may not answer until you find time to play with it again.)

>> But the problem is...... It still says I have no seeds listed,

Which of these two lists has none listed? Or are both empty?

There are two closely-related lists, and I have to stumble around a little each time I go back to it.

There is "YOUR Plant List", which you can get to from your profile:

in your profile, click on "There are XX plants in Agoo's plant list":
Thumb of 2016-10-12/RickCorey/479286

viewing "YOUR Plant List":
Thumb of 2016-10-12/RickCorey/395b15

(I always add to MY Plant List from the Plant Database, so other people can see what I "Have" or "Want", from the database. (These "Have" and "Want" categories are outside the swapping system, and do not mean you are offering them for trade in a seed swap.)
====

Now, Your SWAP List is different, and you have to add items TO Your SWAP List. One way to do that is to click on the "triangle made of three blue arrows that look like a recycling icon" in "YOUR Plant List" (above).

Another way is to get into Your SWAP List and just manually type in names. If the website finds what you're typing and tries to auto-complete your entry, you might permit that since it will group "the database name" alphabetically near some other names for that variety.

Your SWAP List looks like this:

Thumb of 2016-10-12/RickCorey/f47e58

I usually get there by using the website menu
"Tools & Apps" |
Seed Swaps |
"DND's ALL SEEDS SWAP (Int'l) - #3" |
" Manage your own swap list"

To be seen by an individual swap, after adding them, you still need to mark them "Ready", and enter a # of packets offered, and also check the big green check mark.

Fortunately or unfortunately, once you find all the right buttons to click, it's so easy that it's hard to remember exactly how from one swap to the next.

My only problem is FINDING items in my swap list after adding a few pages. Since common names are all overt the map, alphabetization doesn't help as much as you might think.

I like to go to the page "Access the full tradelist for this swap", then filter on "RickCorey". Then filter on a genus name.

THEN I can see what I have in my list.

Edited to add:

The THIRD related list is "THE Swap List" for the entire swap. That's what other swap members will see and pick from.

After you have them in YOUR Swap List, you still need to mark them "Ready", and enter a # of packets offered, and also check the big green check mark for a specific seed swap like DND's #3..
