My top pick would be Isabelle Rose. Totally in love with this plant! It is still blooming today!

That's a beautiful daylily Teresa! Can you tell me how different is Isabelle Rose from Heavenly Angel ICe?

Isabelle Rose looks wonderful. I may have to get that one. I like the height of it. I don't have Isabelle rose, but right off the bat, I see it is much, much taller than Heavenly Angel Ice. Heavenly Angel Ice is a great daylily, one of my favorites, but fairly short. Perfect where I have it though I think.

My best plants for this year were probably Rock Solid, Malaysian Marketplace, and Stella's Ruffled Fingers. Stella's Ruffled Fingers bloomed for such a long time, starting about May 15, took a brief rest July 9 til about July 15, rebloomed 2 more times & finished early September. Rock Solid was a clump with 5 fans with 3 scapes at the same time on each fan, 2 with 2 fans in bloom. It was in bloom for quite a while, but since I guess the scapes were what you call instant rebloom, it wasn't in bloom as long as some other plants, but was covered in blooms they whole time from just 5 fans.

I must have spent so much time deciding my favorites, I missed your 3, legalily. Those are really nice looking flowers, I'll have to look into those closer. I always seem to be drawn to those colors & I really like the yellow edging on Mystic Image.

Mystic Image seemed to bloom forever. This was my first year on all three. Count your assets had large blooms. I won't know until the next couple years how well they do. Hopefully they multiply quickly and are good bloomers.

Teresa, you gave us a pick 3 and you only picked 1 ? Smiling
Great looking picks everyone!
Hmmm...pick 3...

Waggle Dance and sibling Malala (do siblings count as one?) Both have beautiful blooms with appliques and open well for me regardless of the temp during bloom time. Waggle Dance has consistent wide 4 way branching, Malala, 3 way. The applique on Malala is bigger, Waggle Dance has a cleaner base color. Both are easy to use pod or pollen and are good parents for hardy plants with applique patterns.

Painted On Jeans, blooms for 4 - 5 weeks, hardy, super scapes with 4 way branching, the blooms are a clean pink with a blue violet eye. Easy to use both ways ...the most pod fertile plant in the garden and a great parent for working on blue eyes.

Lost in the Translation, the only thing I wish this one was is taller! Great plant with nice foliage. Seemed like the 9 fan clump was in bloom every day from mid July to mid August. Blooms have a beautiful patterned watermark nice base color, easily fertile.

lol, trying to decide my next 2, it is really hard. White Eyes Pink Dragon did great for me. Also Jamie Dockery. Several are really trailing close.

Those each are indeed noteworthy for the Top 3! I think many are stunners!

My favorites this year were also first time blooms (except for last one) for me:

Walter Kennedy - Recently acquired. Scapes developed almost immediately that produced beautiful blooms! I love the stunning shades of red in the blooms! Blooms stayed beautiful throughout the day in the heat.
Thumb of 2016-10-15/beckygardener/85b21a

Wild One - This one produced several scapes with lots of blooms! It was the bloom colors that captured my attention and admiration! I hope it multiplies and blooms even more in 2017!
Thumb of 2016-10-15/beckygardener/1c0320

Marilyn Morss Johnson - I can't lie .... this is one of my favorites because of the bloom. The blooms are perfect each time. The colors and pattern truly delight me. Definitely one of my top three picks!!!

The top 3 plants from my garden this year would be:

WILD CHERRY WINE: Perfect blooms all year long

Thumb of 2016-10-15/Bedmaker/cec07a

SAUCY VIXEN: Perfect blooms all year long, pod and pollen fertile, consistent rebloomer and handles Zone 5 winters without missing a beat.

EMERALD SPLENDOR: Another great performer. Rebloomed for me in spite of the drought. It was still blooming yesterday. Rebloom scapes are much taller then the first set of scapes. Pictured below is off a rebloom scape.

So many beautiful ones, & good to know what performs well. Char, I'm really into the patterned daylilies this year (well, toothy ones have attracted me too), & I really like those. Nice ones Maryl, I really like Pinwheel Princess. Becky, I don't know why I don't have Wild One yet, I've admired that one for years & everyone says it does well. I really like the look of Marilyn Morss Johnson too, I don't think I've seen that one before. David, Wild Cherry Wine is one that has called to me too, haven't gotten it yet, but I've heard it mentioned before as blooming well. I am really trying to make myself get rid of some of my lesser performing ones & focus on plants that bloom & bloom.

As a general rule, when the chips are down I usually am drawn to non patterned day lilies, but Pinwheel Princess was unusual and did a really good job blooming for a first year plant. I like the pattern on Char's Malala etc. too........Mike: Santa's Little Helper is in my top 10 daylilies. So hard to get the intensity of its red in a photo. The first time I saw it in person I knew I had to have it......I may be one of the few that isn't having much luck with Wild Cherry Wine. It flowers very nicely early in the spring, but the plants so far have failed to really take off, so I have large flowers on smallish plants. Still it's a lovely shade of true pink and doesn't take up much room, so it stays..............Maryl

Would you look at that clump shot of Grape Slush...9 inch blooms, gorgeous Mike Thumbs up
I keep going back up and looking at Blueberry Dream, think it is the colors combined with the thin white edge. I'm drawn to the patterns too, Marilyn Morss Johnson, Pinwheel Princess. The edge no eyes of Wild One and Wild Cherry Wine. Sour Puss, funny name (Have we ever done a thread on funny names?) Primal Scream is always a visitor magnet here, everyone wants it.

Lilyfan, it is so hard to downsize to the only the best performers. When deciding what stays and what goes I ask myself, would I rather see this one with a few less blooms that makes me stop to get a closer look or would I rather have the one with more blooms/longer bloom time that I walk by every day barely noticing it was open. It is a happy day when I find one that has those stop and look flowers on a great plant with nice branching and lots of buds. Smiling
