Plant Pansies for Winter Flowers

Try a hayrack planter on your deck railing for flowers when the garden goes to sleep for winter. Winter pansies are cheerful and colorful to see from your window on dreary days.

Thanks for reminding me sandnsea2. I desperately need to plant my hanging baskets. Pansies are always a good idea!

Great idea for winter cheer. Especially here in the Pacific Northwest zone 8, where we don't get much in the way of snow.
Bet a person could have color just about the entire winter. : )

Great tip! Since my new fence went up, all I have growing are the veggies in the buckets. I never thought to put up a few planters with some winter flowers. The color sure would be a welcome sight!

Thanks! I tip my hat to you.

So what is a "hayrack planter"? I love pansies, but I've never heard that term before. Great tip, btw!

Thanks!
Here is a photo. They have separate hangers in various sizes to hang on the deck raiilng or wherever. Most large garden centers carry them in different sizes I have 3 together and it makes for alot of bloom. They are fun to plant seasonally.

Thanks Janice. So the name is just a suggestion for feeding hay to animals? (I'm a city gal)

So am I, Becky. LOL. Hilarious!
There is a very similar structure that is hung on the wall to hold hay and feed livestock
