Thread OP

My neighbour has reduced a 50 foot high maple tree to a stump - she assures me it will regenerate. Can anyone tell me what will really happen?

Some people hack off the top of trees (for whatever reason); the maple tree may never again look like a proper maple tree...or the tree may just decide to die... but if the tree belongs to the neighbor...oh, well. Sighing!
